Jennette McCurdy is open about being upset with Ariana Grande when she worked with her on "Sam & Cat" and the different trajectories of their careers.

Today, Jennette McCurdy released her raw, eye-opening memoir, I'm Glad My Mom Died , in which she writes candidly about growing up in an unstable home with her mother, the trauma of Hollywood and more.

In the book, the former child star also reflects on her time at Nickelodeon and the tension that arose on the set of Sam & Cat after producers reportedly preferred Ariana Grande.

"I had two movies booked on iCarly that I had to turn down because the iCarly team wouldn't write me off the episodes to do them," Jennette wrote to Entertainment Tonight.

Jennette is then told that Ariana will be out all weekend for an awards show she is attending. The writers found a way to write his absence.

"You've got to be kidding me," he said. "So I have to turn down performances while Ariana isn't booing at the Billboard Music Awards? Shit. This!"

Jennette admitted that she started "being a good sport about being angry" because it got her into the crappy position she's in at Nickelodeon, including a "screwed up show" with "screwed up lines."

“Ariana missed work to pursue her music career while I moved with the box. I was upset about it. And I was mad at him. She's jealous of him."

"I always make the mistake of comparing my career to Ariana's. I can't help it. I'm always in the same environment as her and she never tries to hide her achievements."

Jennette's experience with Sam & Cat wasn't the only show she opened. She also detailed her time on iCarly.
